The quest for passionate knowledge continues. Intimate familiarity with all of being is what we seek: a happy marriage, blissful and fruitful, with the universe entire.
To commence this holy journey of becoming, learn to test your thought for its universal quality.1 The bridge between discrete ‘you’ and your remote partner – the universe – is constructed piecemeal, the chasm closed by you gradually becoming like the universe and it like you; the very first step is to learn to think as it does, for loving union is impossible for those too selfish to think as their partner would.
To align your thought with the universe, allow yourself only those thoughts that you would propagate across it, through all of space and time. Those are the universal thoughts you should embrace, the rest local, selfish and parochial, hindrances to harmonious unification that you’d be better off discarding.
From this elementary exercise will follow seismic shifts in your soul, which will begin to change and become righteous, just, kind and merciful, regulated by the same qualities that regulate the universal good. You will become passionate – in an instinctive way – about those sublime, transcendent ideals, your soul courageous like the soul of the universe.
