New Book Release
I have great news to share: הארץ אשר אראך is finally in print! The product of years of study, lecturing and writing, this 208-page Hebrew book presents my conclusions about the mitzvah to reside in Eretz Yisrael. The book is not merely a collection of sources and opinions, but an in-depth, original and methodical treatment of this topic that touches on the fundamentals of the Torah and draws on all of Torah literature. Along the way, I discuss the following questions and more:
What constitutes a mitzvah?
Must we refrain from activism as we await Mashiach?
Why did a large community remain in Bavel during the period of the Second Temple?
Are there situations in which a person should choose to live in exile?
Why is Eretz Yisrael so central to the Torah?
I am proud of this book produced with great toil and meticulousness. I hope and expect that this project will spark a heightened engagement with this important topic and promote knowledge and understanding about the mitzvah that is "equal to the whole Torah."
The book is available for purchase from me directly, in Judaica stores, and online, here:
I am confident that through the study of this book you will gain a richer appreciation for Eretz Yisrael and its significance.
English Translation Project
Additionally, I have started working on an English translation of the book, which I will be posting, serially, to Substack here:
The community conversation about Eretz Yisrael in our times is just beginning. I look forward to holding events to publicize the book and spread awareness. If you would like to be part of this historic effort by planning an event/shiur/promotion or in another way, please reach out.
Wishing you all the best,
Shnayor
